This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for 14fortymc.com, the website of 14Forty Marketing & Consulting (“14Forty,” “we,” or “us”). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website. It will notify you of the following:

  1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the website, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
  3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
  4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.
  5. The cookies and analytics tools this website uses.

Information we collect

Information you give us. We collect the information you choose to share with us:

  • Contact form: your name, company, email address, phone number, message, and how you heard about us.
  • Website Scorecard: the address of the website you want scored, your answers to six multiple-choice questions about your website, your first name, your email address, and whether you’d like to receive marketing email.
  • Consultation bookings: the details you enter when you book a consultation with us through Cal.com.
  • Email and phone: anything you send us directly.
  • Job and freelance applications: our resume and freelance forms are hosted by Asana. What you submit there is also covered by Asana’s privacy policy.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our analytics tools collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view, what you click, how far you scroll, the site that sent you here, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your IP address. The cookies and analytics section below explains how. When you send the Website Scorecard, your entry on our website also records your IP address and the type of browser and device you used.

How we use your information

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We also use it to:

  • Build your Website Scorecard. We check public pages of the website you enter, grade them with the help of an AI model, and combine the grade with your answers. You see your score and report at a private link, and we email you the report.
  • Follow up about your inquiry or your scorecard results.
  • Understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve it.
  • Keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.

If you contact us, we may email you in the future about our services, new resources, or changes to this privacy policy, unless you ask us not to. On the Website Scorecard, we only add you to our marketing email list if you check the consent box. We send your scorecard report either way, because you asked for it. Every marketing email includes a link to unsubscribe.

How we share your information

We will not sell or rent your information to anyone. We share it only with the service providers that help us run our website and business, and only as much as they need to do that work:

  • WP Engine hosts this website and stores form submissions.
  • Google provides Google Analytics. For the Scorecard, Google PageSpeed Insights loads the homepage of the website you enter and returns screenshots and performance data.
  • Microsoft Clarity shows us how visitors use our pages.
  • Customer.io sends our email, including your scorecard, and manages our email list. It records when our emails are opened and which links in them are clicked.
  • n8n, hosted by n8n GmbH, runs the automation that builds your scorecard and sends it to our team. It loads the public homepage of the website you enter and the page its main button links to, and checks the site’s menu links and a few public files, such as robots.txt and sitemaps.
  • Anthropic provides Claude, the AI model that grades the website you enter in the Scorecard. Claude receives the public text of the homepage and the page its main button links to, the PageSpeed screenshots, the results of our checks, and your answer about your website’s main goal. Your name and email address are never sent to Anthropic or to PageSpeed Insights.
  • Attio is our customer database, where we keep track of inquiries, leads and clients.
  • ClickUp is where our team manages follow-up tasks.
  • Cal.com schedules the consultations you book with us.
  • Asana hosts our job and freelance application forms.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of 14Forty, our clients, or others.

Your access to and control over information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:

  • See what data we have about you, if any.
  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

You can also unsubscribe from our marketing email using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

How long we keep information

  • Your Website Scorecard results page stays available at its private, unlisted link for 90 days. After that, the link expires.
  • Website Scorecard form entries are kept on our website for 90 days, then deleted.
  • To prevent spam, the Scorecard keeps a scrambled version of your IP address for up to 24 hours.
  • We keep contact form submissions, your Scorecard results in our team’s tools, and your place on our email list for as long as they help us work with you, or until you ask us to delete them.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit information through the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Information you submit through this website is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page.

While we use encryption to protect information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Cookies and analytics

We use “cookies” and similar technologies on this site. A cookie is a small piece of data stored by your browser that helps us recognize repeat visitors and understand how our site is used. We use:

  • Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use most. See how Google uses this information.
  • Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our pages, through heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. We use what we learn to improve the site. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • A Scorecard cookie that remembers you’ve already completed the Website Scorecard, for up to one year.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but some features may not remember you. To opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit, use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as our website and services change. When we do, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
